Profile

Having grown up in a family of artists, Mary has always drawn, stitched, painted and taken photographs. She found working for the HE Diploma in Stitched Textiles at East Berkshire College at Windsor allowed her to combine all these things with her love of textiles. Since finishing the course at Windsor she has gone on to take a BA in Art & Design at Hastings College (University of Brighton) where she has followed the Fine Art pathway.

This experience has encouraged a broad, multi-disciplinary approach to her work which explores landscape and place and how our perception of it is coloured by knowledge and memory. She works in different media but with an underlying attachment to the nature of cloth.
